Belief in Poetry Group
St Peter’s Belief in Poetry Group is one of a number of small groups St Peter’s runs to enable people to explore and develop Christian faith.’Belief in Poetry’ reads and reflects on a wide range of poems, long and short, classic and contemporary - all with the capacity to shine light on Christian faith and spirituality. We have. for instance, read and reflected on the whole of Dante’s ‘The Divine Comedy’, John Milton’s ‘Paradise Lost’ and T S Eliot’s ‘Four Quartets’ as well as anthologies of poems edited by Mark Oakley and Janet Morley. Currently we are reading through and discussing ‘A Century of Poetry: 100 poems for searching the heart’, an anthology of poems written in the 20th and 21st Centuries edited by Rowan Williams. The Group meets on Zoom from 5.00 - 6.00pm on Wednesdays. If you would like to know more about this or any other of our groups, please use the Contact form on this website.
